Rainy Day

Call me melancholy, but rainy days actually don't get me down. I like them. I feel like I should apologize to Sarah for this statement because she is all about sunshine, but the truth is I love a good downpour and if there is a little thunder to go along with it...all the better. I guess it is kind of like a good cry, cleanses the soul. One of my favorite things to do growing up was to sit outside on the carport swing during a rainshower. I don't have a carport swing these days, but if I did you better believe I'd be sitting out there now...drinking it in...the mist on my face, the sound of thunder, and the smell of rain...a welcome retreat.

I love the summer thunderstorms. I still have fond memories of running around outside on a Saturday, right after dad finished mowing the yard, and feeling that cool breeze blow in after a really hot day. The sky would get all ominous and purple, and there is just nothing like a thunder and lightening show on a summer afternoon! Ahhhh....

The best is napping during a daytime thunderstorm!

I totally agree with Celeste. The best naps are during a rainy day. I love the smell of rain. Not a fan of driving in it though.

Oh my gosh, me too!

We live in Seattle, so we get a lot of rain, but hardly ever of the "cats and dogs" variety. More like sprinkles. So when it really comes down I love to stand in my backyard and get rained on. Especially at night. It's hard not to feel instantly alive and awake and refreshed. A few days ago I was waiting as my husband ran into the grocery store for a few things and it sounded so neat on the jeep's roof and windshield.

We don't get a lot of thunder and lightning storms like when we lived back east. I miss those summer storms! I loved to push my bed up against the window and sleep with the window open.

Gracious, my comment is longer than your post, I think. Sorry! It was a neat topic...
