Chromophobia

Okay, I was going to share about my fear of color (like in my wardrobe)...I really have a hard time with this...I tend to lean towards black, brown, and when I'm feeling really CRAZY, blue. I thought it would be fun for us to ponder this together so that I could come to some self-realization about why I'm afraid of color in my wardrobe. So, in the spirit of being accurate in my research on the topic I googled "Fear of Color". Which by the way is Chromophobia or Chromatophobia (like the title of this post if you haven't figured that out yet).

However my own issue has now been postponed for discussion because you will never believe the supreme fodder I found for blogging on this website! You would not believe this list. SERIOUSLY!!!!!! People have ISSUES!

I don't mean to make fun, because I know a lot these things are real to people, but I can't help but list a few of my favorites...

Anemophobia - Fear of air
Geniophobia - Fear of chins
Consecotaleophobia - Fear of chopsticks
Homilophobia - Fear of sermons
Doraphobia - Fear of Dora the Explorer (just kidding, it actually means fear of Fur or skins of animals)
Arachibutyrophobia - Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth
Pteronophobia - Fear of being tickled by feathers or fear of feathers

I'm not making these up...

Odontophobia - Fear of Dental Surgery (okay, who is NOT afraid of that?)
Optophobia - Fear of opening one's eyes (yeah, I have this every morning!)
Pediculophobia or Phthiriophobia - Fear of Lice (Jen!!!)
Eisoptrophobia - Fear of mirrors or seeing oneself in a mirror (some days for sure!)
Blennophobia or Myxophobia - Fear of Slime (I'm guessing none of these people ever worked on the Nickeodeon show "You Can't Do That On Television!")
Gynephobia or Gynophobia - Fear of Women (BOO!)
