Thursday 13

Recently I've been corresponding via email with my niece, L, and she has like totally revealed to me her affinity for 80's music. She's 15 (going on 16 I'm sure she would have me tell you) so she was not actually around in the 80's no DUH, but we'll forgive her that since she obviously has some AWESOME taste in music.

L has requested some of my favorites from this RAD decade so...let's dig out your synths, dust off our roller skates, and put on our leg warmers 'cuz I can't fight this feeling anymore...

13 Tublular 80's Songs

1) CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING by REO Speedwagon

2) GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN by Cyndi Lauper

3) CHERISH by Kool and the Gang

4) GLORY OF LOVE by Peter Cetera

5) ALONE by Heart

6) MANIC MONDAY by The Bangles

7) ADDICTED TO LOVE by Robert Palmer

8) HANDS TO HEAVEN by Breathe

9) WE BUILT THIS CITY by Starship

10) WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN by The Bangles

11) AGAINST ALL ODDS (Take a Look at Me Now) by Phil Collins

12) I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW by Tiffany

13) LOVE SHACK by The B52s

Don't have a cow if I've left one out, I only had 13 spaces! Just leave a comment with your fave...I don't want L to miss out any good ones, that would be SUCH a bummer!

What decade was "Tainted Love" in? That is a personal, all time favorite. What a kick to look back over these songs! Somehow over the years I started to hum "Manic Monday" on Mondays...weird, isn't it?

Noooo! I have already dumped enough money into iTunes, and there are several on this list that I don't have, but desperately need now!

And let us not forget the early 80's song by Tony Basil, Mickey...sing it with me now. "Oh Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind hey Mickey"

O wow the 80s... strangely I was going to post about that the other day... how when I was 15 in 1987 1967 seemed literally another world away. Somehow that is not the case now... 20 years back in the popular culture the 80s do not seem as far-removed from here. Maybe it's bc the 60s were still mostly in black and white ... computers were just hitting homes in the 80s. Life in the 60s was very different. O I don't know. Anyway was just passing at random and thought I'd say hi. I'm at gledwood2.blogspot if you wanna drop by you're most welcome. Read my online journal ... all the best to you
