Divine Intervention

Do you ever have one of those moments when you feel like God is trying to get your attention?

I've had so much noise in my life lately (mainly in the form of blogs), that I've really not been taking the time to stop and listen to Him. Sometimes, I think I do that on purpose because maybe I'm afraid to hear what He has to say.

This afternoon I went downstairs to walk on the treadmill. The only thing that will even remotely motivate me to do that is being able to watch some of the Oprah episodes that I have taped on my DVR. Well, today I was trying to get the TV to come on so that Oprah could help to lessen the drudgery that is "working out". It wouldn't come on.

Hmmm, that is strange.

I did a few things to try and fix it before I realized that I needed to call tech support (aka - my husband). He came downstairs and tried for a bit, but was unsuccessful. He asked me to give him a minute to figure it out and went upstairs to do so. In the meantime I decided to go ahead and start the workout for fear I would never do it.

As I started walking, I felt a gentle nudge in my spirit. A still small voice. Pray. The door was open and the invitation was clear. My Maker wanted a moment with me. So, I took the time to be still, silent, and to be in His presence. It's such a good place to be.

I wouldn't call it any epiphany, but a moment of clarity. And I'm hoping that next time...I'll be able to turn off the TV, the phone, the music, or the blogs all by myself.

I admire you for taking the time to listen. I bet your workout was blessed and left you feeling energized. Maybe that is what I need to get over the laziness.
