Brotherhood of the Holey Pants?

You know those books about the traveling pants?

Clearly that would never work for a group of boys. I don't know about all of you other Mom's of boys, but this is how all of our jeans end up after a few short months (sometimes less). The speed and precision of their destruction simply defies the laws of nature. And can I just say...this is a mere SAMPLING of the holey pants we have in our possession. Shelley, I hope you are taking notes!

Whew...I remember those days! Soon you'll get to the stage where they grow so quickly there's no time for holes. Then it'll be on to the men's department. Sigh.

Alana, I just read your "100 Things About Me" post. It's hilarious. Seriously. When I got to #60, I nearly fell off my chair laughing! I think you are supposed to write ROFL for that. And I was!

Wow. That's crazy!

Coming from a mom of girls, I'm left wondering how that happens.

I'm thinking that will be the case for Jade soon though...she's so content to crawl, her jeans will be a mess!

Seriously that amazes me!

Thankfully such a thing has never happened in our household.

He does that to every pair of pants, really?

Hey you could sell those and make more than you paid for them originaly....that is the style these days and you didn't have to pay 90 a pair for them :)

Yes..I know exactly what you mean.

we haven't gotten to that point - YET! i know it is coming. even in the middle of winter my boy wears shorts around the house. the day will arrive when his jeans will have knees ripped out. maybe they need to make jeans with reinforced knees for boys....

You would think that my boy would have more trouble with holey pants, but no, it's my older daughter. She, by far, has more pants with holes in the knees, and I'm not quite sure how that happens. It's not like she's doing a lot of hole-in-the-knee-of-her-pants activities.

This is stinkin' hilarious!

Too funny. They are evidence of all the fun your boys have!! :)

That picture is so funny. You need to frame it to remember these days when they are all grown up.

Hi!! It's Jennifer (Enkoff) Wood. I found you through Angie's blog. I think we have the same exact pants at our house. This year, I found myself happily sending Isaac (our oldest) to school in holey pants and just pretending we bought them that way!!! It's great to catch up with you. :)

Got it. Need lots of strong jeans for my insanely active boy. Must start savings account now for said jeans.

That has NEVER happened to ANY of my girls pants/jeans. Of course, it probably helps that Ellie doesn't even WEAR jeans!

I would like to comment that this happens to my son's jeans AND my daughter's jeans! My mom gets a good laugh because she finally had to put me in Toughskin jeans when I was a kid because I wore through the knees so fast! LOL!

I'm taking notes...I have 3 boys! Yikes! Do I need a jean budget?

Alana said...

Yes, Earen. I'm afraid so. ;-)

holy pants in boys mean life lived to the fullest! love it.

I love that fun-loving boy stage!! In just a few short years they will want to buy jeans that already look like that!!

Again...right there with you sista. Jeans cannot be handed down from brother to brother. Neither can tennis shoes.

Earen-you need a tennis shoe AND jean budget.

And I suppose that leaves nothing for mama...

Too funny

Sad but true...our girl was the worst holey jean offender. And this was long before she started spending on $50.00 on jeans that conveniently came with the holes already there!

Yesssssssssssssssss... Noah's pants all look like this! Grrrrrr.

Yeah I discovered this already and my boys are only 1 & 3. I now have go away pants and at home pants so that the more expensive ones will last more than one child, hopefully.

Holey jeans are just evidence your boys are having a great time! You could always bring the patched knee trend back!!

Jack has worn out his jeans quickly from the very first. This shocked me after raising 2 girls before him, who always GREW out of their jeans before WEARING them out!

It's funny and they're a mess, but I do revel in his boy-ness. :)
