Alive and Well

You guys must be wondering if The Big D finally did me in, huh? I mean, since you haven't heard from me in awhile? Nope, I'm still plugging away at at. It is going pretty well, but of course could be better. You know, like if I wiggled my nose like Samantha in Bewitched and all the weight disappeared. She really had it made with that little nose wiggle. Imagine...wiggle your nose and dinner's ready, the house is clean, and laundry's done. Oh, and remember how she could freeze people? Imagine how valuable THAT could be to a mother of young children! Mmmhmm.

I've actually been spending the last week and a half hanging out with my 16 year old niece, Lucy. She came to stay with us and we are having a great time showing her around B-town. Lots of shopping, swimming, playing, eating, movie renting, etc. She has been educating me on text messaging and giving me all her tricks and secrets. For awhile I thought she had a pet bee what with all the buzzing, but it was actually just her cell phone. But seriously, I'm truly thankful for our time together. I love getting to know her more as a person. She is such a special girl.

We have a few more days with Lucy and after that I will try to get back in the bloggy swing of things. I'm so far behind on my blog reading, I fear I will never recover. I'll try to get around and catch up with all of you soon.

Over and out.

Glad you are okay! You've been missed.

How valuable to be able to spend time with a teen that closely! We all will need lessons from what you have learned! I'm sure you are a fun aunt to have.

I have SO been out of the blogging swing of things!! I planned on blogging while on vacation, but it didn't happen much. I miss this outlet, but have to remember that blogging is just that... an outlet! We miss ya when you can't post, but we totally understand! :)

Oh...the Big D. I'm with you, sister. I could use a magic twitch of the nose about right now too. Probably doesn't help that I ate potato salad tonight. :(

Glad you are back! :)

Uh lay nuh...
Thinking about you sweet girl this morning and wondering WHERE YOU WERE! You probably can fill Lucy in on a few things like flickr and stuff---you are pretty savvy yourself! Having a teen around keeps you in the predictive text! Are you going to SF??? Did I miss that? And if you find a way for me to lose like thirty pounds in thirty days eating more than 500 calories a day, let me know! I'm waiting (weighting---) oh well, it won't happen. Love your blog. Love your heart. Love your passion. Love your life.

I am glad you are enjoying your time with your niece. so nice to hear from you :o) glad to know the Big D is going well!

the texting thing - my niece who just turned 18 had about 10,000 in one month - that is over 200 a day. YIKES! I don't even have it on my phone - i am so not the cool auntie!

Hi Alana, I am glad you are back. I was nice to see you at VBS, even though we were usually coming or going.

Yes - I'm quite glad to see you are still indeed alive and well. Summer is meant to be enjoyed outdoors and hanging out with family. It would do us all a bit of good to take a break from the big computer screen that taunts us to sit down at it all day long!! :-) Glad you are having some fun hangout time with your niece.

We miss you, but I totally understand about not having enough hours in the day to do everything that you want to get done!

Enjoy the rest of your visit..

The texting thing is a big deal with teenagers! I fought it for a long time, but they suckered me in! Now, I am a text addict..."my name is Lisa and I am a text addict."

I came to your site from Waiting for the Shout. It was great to read your blog.
