Little Letter

I've been meaning to post this for awhile. This is a letter Richie wrote to his teacher and gave to her on the last day of school...along with this book for her collection. I took a picture of the letter so I could save it for posterity. I just love it. I could never have imagined as I was writing this last year what a wonderful year we had in store for us. Here is a picture I took of Richie with his teacher as we dropped him off on the first day of school, followed by his letter to her on the last day of school.

The letter says, "Dear Mrs. R., I'm gonna miss yuo. Are yuo gonna miss me to? I like when we made the glasses. Did yuo like my good charucter? Love, Richie

Those little things between the letters are hearts :-)

That brought tears to my eyes!

It seems like just yesterday, and yet forever ago that we were gearing up for kindergarten.

We drove the school drive today, on our way to the movie. We looked at the "big kid" playgrounds and pick-up spots, and Ellie commented that..."She won't be at THAT pick-up/drop-off next year, THAT'S for the KINDERGARTNERS. As if that was SO long ago that SHE was a KINDERGARTNER. :)

That is so cute. It's nice when there is a connection between your child and their teacher.
I can't believe I have no more Kindergarteners. They are growing up too fast.

Just wait 'til one of the kids is entering 7th grade! Time flies far too quickly sometimes.

Mrs. Round is one of THE BEST kindergarten teachers around. I'm so glad Richie had a good year. First grade will be even better!

Hi there, Alana! OK, so ... this is a *very* stupid question, but what is your maiden name? I think that I know who you are, but I want to make sure. (It has been a long time!) Does your maiden name start with a "T"? Oh, that story is SO sweet. Congratulations on two handsome boys! Wow, how time flies. So glad to have caught up with you and be able to add your blog to my list of links! ~Lisanne :)

Those are the things we teachers cherish and keep forever. I should know as I have a whole drawer full of them, and my students are 5th and 6th graders! I just can't seem to get rid of them:) Love the picture!

I've got a few years, but I can only pray that my Little Girl will have a teacher that hugs her like that and one that she will want to write a letter to with little hearts in between the words! Precious!
