I've been meaning to post this for awhile. This is a letter Richie wrote to his teacher and gave to her on the last day of school...along with this book for her collection. I took a picture of the letter so I could save it for posterity. I just love it. I could never have imagined as I was writing this last year what a wonderful year we had in store for us. Here is a picture I took of Richie with his teacher as we dropped him off on the first day of school, followed by his letter to her on the last day of school.
The letter says, "Dear Mrs. R., I'm gonna miss yuo. Are yuo gonna miss me to? I like when we made the glasses. Did yuo like my good charucter? Love, Richie
Those little things between the letters are hearts :-)

oh my heart! just the way his teacher is huggin him and the look on her face...priceless. what a cute kid ya got there!
It is exciting to see how much they really do progress during that first year at school. He is so cute.
That brought tears to my eyes!
It seems like just yesterday, and yet forever ago that we were gearing up for kindergarten.
We drove the school drive today, on our way to the movie. We looked at the "big kid" playgrounds and pick-up spots, and Ellie commented that..."She won't be at THAT pick-up/drop-off next year, THAT'S for the KINDERGARTNERS. As if that was SO long ago that SHE was a KINDERGARTNER. :)
That is definitely a keeper!
That is so cute. It's nice when there is a connection between your child and their teacher.
I can't believe I have no more Kindergarteners. They are growing up too fast.
That is one of the sweetest things I've ever seen! He writes really well for someone fresh out of Kindergarten!
Xandra
seriously? seriously.
alana. you CANNOT do that to people on saturday nights. when they're trying to just GET STUFF DONE ALREADY.
that is beautiful. and what a wonderful mommy you are that he would ask if she likes his character?
loved this. absolutely loved this.
"charucter" is a VERY big word for a little person. Precious!
Oh my goodness. That is precious.
Great that you have the picture to remember.
*sniff*
o my golly that is cute. cute. cute. cute.
That is so so sweet! Love the hearts, too. :)
How sweet! Ryan loved his teachers too. When we wrote the letter I had tears b/c he would tell me to write some sweet things! They grow up way to fast!
Why yes...he is the cutest thing ever!!
Just wait 'til one of the kids is entering 7th grade! Time flies far too quickly sometimes.
Mrs. Round is one of THE BEST kindergarten teachers around. I'm so glad Richie had a good year. First grade will be even better!
It makes me smile to know how much he loved Mrs. R. She is one of my favorite people.
Great letter!!
oh melt my heart. his teacher will treasure that letter forever and ever.
what a sweet, beautiful heart your boy has and obviously he has good character!
You should be a proud mama!
He is going to be big before you know it...treasure him and every moment right now. It is just precious!
Too precious for words! I love that when we trust God, he totally comes through in a big way. I'm so glad this past year was such a good, safe, and enjoyable year. So glad you took the pic to remember that letter by. What a little cutie!
so sweet alana!!!
How sweet, and how wonderful that he had a great teacher!
Hi there, Alana! OK, so ... this is a *very* stupid question, but what is your maiden name? I think that I know who you are, but I want to make sure. (It has been a long time!) Does your maiden name start with a "T"? Oh, that story is SO sweet. Congratulations on two handsome boys! Wow, how time flies. So glad to have caught up with you and be able to add your blog to my list of links! ~Lisanne :)
Those are the things we teachers cherish and keep forever. I should know as I have a whole drawer full of them, and my students are 5th and 6th graders! I just can't seem to get rid of them:) Love the picture!
PRECIOUS!!! Wow, what a way to melt my heart! I so hope that I have boys. I don't think this world has enough great parents like you and Rich and enough boys like Richie and Will...sweet as can be!!
I've got a few years, but I can only pray that my Little Girl will have a teacher that hugs her like that and one that she will want to write a letter to with little hearts in between the words! Precious!
