Inlaws After A Girl's Own Heart

So. This week a packaged arrived on our doorstep. The return address was from Rich's parents. This is not an unusual occurrence. Often they will send a package of miscellaneous items to the family with toys, books, etc. for the boys. But this package was different. Delightfully different. It contained a small box (bless them for considering the Big D...there it is again...sorry) of pure bliss. What could be in said package you inquire? Fudge. Peanut Butter Fudge. And not-just-any-peanut butter fudge.

You see that there? Are you drooling? You should be. (No, I didn't pose the fudge...I got the picture off the internet.) That wonderful fudge is from a place in Nantucket, Massachusetts called Aunt Leah's Fudge. They say it is the "World's Best Fudge" and they speak the God's honest truth. It is hands down...THE BEST FUDGE I've ever tasted. I've been enjoying small tastes as the Big D allows and it is heaven. If you are ever in Nantucket...it is an absolute must see (and eat). Also worth ordering for a special occasion (I have ordered it for our anniversary before in honor of our honeymoon there...there being Nantucket, not Aunt' Leah's, although if I'm being honest we did spend a significant amount of time there as well). I will warn you that it is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but in my humble option is worth the splurge.

Thanks Dick and Joanne for the goodies!

And since I'm talking about candy, I'm feeling the need to give you a couple of other suggestions for amazing candy you can order for yourselves or give as a gift.

THE BEST CARAMELS can be found or ordered from a place called Abbot's Candy Shop based in Hagerstown, Indiana. My parents give these to us every year for Christmas. Yum.

THE BEST PEANUT BRITTLE can be found or ordered from a place called See's Candies based in San Francisco, California. This candy shop is more well known than the others so I'm sure many of you have heard of it. But I had to mention it because their Peanut Brittle is to die for.

Okay, I will stop now. And I guess I should open up the comments to your suggestions as well. I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on any tasty treats!

So, how are you doing with the Big D anyway? I totally want that fudge right there!

There is a place in Merriville, IN that has the best double-dipped chocolate covered peanuts ever! It is some sort of candy factory. Hang on, I'll see if I can find the name...

You gotta love Google! It's called Albanese Candy Company.

My mom is something of a chocolate conisuier (how do you spell that) She likes the gourmet stuff. She really likes L.A.Burdick, I am not sure where they are based but you order and then it's ships to you the very next day. It's pretty yummy.

Well, my mouth would be watering except for the fact that I have been craving something gooey and sweet and chocolately for several days and I finally gave in. I baked a few dozen chocolate chip cookies today from scratch and they came out perfectly buttery, chewy, sweet, and delicious!

And now I am just sick from overeating. Don't talk to me about chocolate right now, ugh...
but check in again tomorrow. :) Or stop by, WITH YOUR FUDGE.

And by the way, THAT is the kind of in-law I plan to be, right there, honey. No one can dislike someone who sends FUDGE, right? :)

My former in-laws are like that - only they give me a break when single parenthood takes its toll. How's that for in-laws? And FORMER ones, at that? I'm very blessed.

That fudge looks mighty tasty. Good thing fudge isn't my favorite. But those chocolate-covered peanuts Darlene R. mentions? Oh... my... goodness...

I love that you mention that you didn't pose the fudge. I kept thinking, where does Alana have white wicker?

Anyway, go In-laws!! That is an awesome gift.

I know they aren't famous, but Tom's Bakery in B-town makes the finest sugar cookies ever. In my opinion!

I saw "Carol's Cookie" on the Food Network one night and I have put it in my favorites on my computer to save for a special order for someone. They look divine , however, now I feel hungry for fudge.

Thanks.

Are you trying to KILL ME HERE?! That fudge looks incredible. Good for you for having a small piece a day. I'd have eaten the whole thing in two days. I'm not kidding. Two years ago at Christmas I literally made myself sick on my Aunt's fudge!

Spending your honeymoon at Aunt Leah's Fudge sounds sublime to me. I see nothing wrong with that at all. :)

I think your diet might be in jeopardy...I'll send you a mailing address so you can get rid of the fudge!

Are you up for a meme? See my blog, I tagged you!

How fun to get a treat in the mail! I love when those unexpected packages come (my mom is great about sending treats)! The fudge looks divine!

I like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory - they have good truffles and the BEST caramel apples EVER - they create all sorts of yummy flavors - apple pie, oreo, turtle -so good! My other favorite to get their is the white chocolate covered sponge candy. It brings back the memories from when I was a kid and we got sponge candy in our brown bag on Christmas Eve at church.
