Remember this post where I pleaded with you all to SAVE THE BROWNIES? It was when I tried to make low calorie brownies by using diet soda? Let's just say I was traumatized. I still shudder from time to time at the thought. But this week, I gave the diet soda/baking goods idea another go and tried it with a cake mix and it worked! I can officially recommend this to you. Just add one can of diet soda (I used Diet Dr. Pepper) to any cake mix (I used yellow), mix it up, and bake as directed. It actually tastes really GOOD! Top it with a little Cool Whip (regular or lite) and you have a yummy low cal answer to your cake craving. Enjoy!
Here's an official recipe I found online if you'd like precise instructions.

LOL! The cake must be saved at all costs!

Sounds like a good idea!! I love any low cal dessert that actually tastes good!
I may have to try this! Thanks friend!
I've done this before... not bad at all. :)
Thanks for the reminder!! When you had posted the previous post, I was pregnant and have since forgotten about the Tupperware party I had gone to, where they did a rendition of this cake in the microwave, and it was good. I actually bought the bowl for making that exact cake at the time, but I was pregnant then and wasn't thinking about dieting. Ha! Anyway, now that I'm back on the big "D," as you call it, I gotta get me a box of cake mix! :) I'm heading to the store!
Thanks for the reminder, Alana!
hmmm....yummy thoughts in my mind...Wonder if different colas lend a new twist of flavor???
