Giving Thanks

Last year I composed a special list for this...

http://southbreezefarm.blogspot.com/2008/10/thankful-month.html

This simple activity really blessed me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So many times I feel like we gloss over Thanksgiving in our holiday celebrations so I really loved composing a list last year of the things I was thankful for. You'll find this year's list in the sidebar of my blog. I will do my best to update it daily. Sound interesting? Head on over to Leah's blog and check it out!

I loved your list last year. And I can't wait to see what you're thankful for this year. It's a great way to be reminded of all our blessings.

• I am thankful that my wife is HOT!
[good, now I can get to the less superficial]
• I am thankful that my wife cares for me and picks up the slack whilst I am broken.
• I am thankful that my wife is such a great and loving mother.
• I am thankful that she is a role model of dedication, endurance and perseverance.
• I am thankful that my wife is such a beautiful person.
[which is completely different from being HOT!]
• I am thankful for my wife!

Sounds like Rich is thankful....:)

I think I'll do this again this year. Thanks for the reminder. Now if I can just figure our the HTML code for putting it on my sidebar.

Great idea, Alana. I agree, it's so easy to lose the true meaning of this Thanksgiving season amidst all of the rushing around. Looking forward to reading your list throughout the month!

I remember doing this last year and totally stealing it from you!

And...we ate at McAlisters tonight. SAME TABLE. I smiled as I remembered.

Hugs,

I found you from Life With the Wisners, and just in time! This is a great idea, and something I need to do. I'm going to go and check it out.

"Picks up the slack while I am broken" - ooohhhh I LOVED THAT LINE! That is unbelievably encouraging and humble and awesome! And that's Proverbs 31:20---you do smile at the future.
And I have missed commenting here cause you fell off of my address book---don't ask me how...I have all that stuff to keep up with my favorite blogs and I can't work it. Just can't work it! So, I found you somewhere like on Scrabble or something. I'm back. Just stopped by to tell you that the gardener is calling your name. John 20:15

PS - nothing wrong with Rich's eyes---you are hot!

I have this on my sidebar this year and I am loving adding to it. It is a blessing to remember to stop and thank Jesus INTENTIONALLY! My boys and I also have a thankful turkey on the fridge with construction paper 'feathers' added daily in Nov. with one thing per feather we are thankful for! Praise Jesus the bird is getting fuller than the fridge can hold!
