Personal Plea to Moms of Little Girls

Would one of you (or more) please, PLEASE, PLEASE go to Target and purchase one of those cute little sweater dresses for your little girl for the fall? (I looked and looked, but can't find a link to it online...so you'll just have to trust me). I will be eternally grateful because this will prevent me from having to buy one just hang in the closet for no particular reason...seeing as I have only boys to buy clothing for. Thank you. I feel better already.

So. Hello! How have you been? I feel like we have so much catching up to do. I've been a stranger to this blog and to your blogs quite a bit lately and for that I apologize, but I've been quite busy as of late traveling to see a friend, soaking up the last bits of summer, and watching the Olympics - which of course goes without saying.

I took the boys this weekend to stay with my friend Sarah and her boys. We had such a great time catching up and running around a bit. We did a little shopping on Saturday in the "big city" near her home and went to a very fun and unique park there as well. Of course the park would have been more fun had we not been melting from the heat. One of the highlights was visiting the store in which I now dream of doing all my grocery shopping because it was such a pleasant experience. But alas we have none here in B-town. Thanks Sarah for a wonderful weekend. Let's not let a year pass again without any late night girl talks! Promise?

Yesterday I did something quite brave and heroic and took both boys BY MYSELF to a local amusement park. And it was actually quite fun. I think that should be an official childhood milestone. The ability to be cared for at an amusement park by only one parent.

Okay, I think that is all I have to share for now. I promise to catch up with all of you and your news soon. And I'm serious about the dress. Please. For me.

O.k. 2 things.

I will be the sacrificial lamb and make my way straight to Target this week to look at this beautiful sweater dress for my daughter. Thanks for the heads up.

Second - I just saw that store out here in Indiana - Fresh Market - and D and I thought it looked so interesting. We are now officially going to check this out as well!!

Glad to see you back in the blogosphere. Summer's are always crazy, but oh so fun!

Oh my word! So I'm not the only one with two boys who looks at little girl clothes at the store! Stephen and Matthew were in the kids' play zone at a big mall here in Japan today and Joel was sleeping in his stroller so I pushed him around looking at REALLY adorable kids' clothes, most of which were for girls, wishing I had tons of money and could buy and ship loads of them to friends in America and the UK. Just SO cute, that stuff. But it's probably kinda far to recommend any of my overseas friends come over and here and buy for their little lasses.

And man, I commend you for the whole amusement park thing. It's a major accomplishment for me to get to the bank with mine. You go, girl!

I WOULD buy the dress, but alas, I am in the same boy boat as you.

The closest Fresh Market to us is in Asheville - about an hour away, but I do go there occasionally and it IS a magical shopping experience.

Amusement park by yourselves? Proud of you. Real Proud.

We're headed to Target for school supplies this morning so I'm adding the dress to the list. Because if it's for school it must be a school supply, right?

I would love to purchase said sweater dress for Gracie, but our Targets are still selling shorts and tank tops!

I'm glad that you were able to get away and see your friend, but we are glad to have you back with us! And you are totally brave to take the boys to an amusement park alone...I would have been a nervous wreck!

I will keep my eye out at Target for the sweater dresses. I am sure my girls would look mighty sweet in them. Plus, my days of matchy-matchy might end at anytime so I gotta do it while I can. Thanks for the heads up friend.

It IS a milestone when kids can be cared for by one parent at an amusement park. I'm so glad you said that, and that you get it! I remember hitting milestones like that after becoming a single parent, and I thought it was such a big deal, but didn't really have anyone to share that with who would understand. Cool! Doesn't it feel rather freeing to have made it to that milestone?

A new Target's about to open down the road - I will definitely check it out , especially because the ONLY thing my little girl wears these days are dresses.

I just bought Morgan a sweater dress, not at Target but it is cute! I may have to check out Target to get her another one- a girl can't have too many options for church on Sunday can she?? You are so funny!

You are a hero for taking two boys to the amusement park alone - good for you! Sounds like you have been busy but having a great time.

I would love to buy Lou the sweater dress. But I would have to rip her sports shorts and t-shirt off her body. Please pray for me. :)

Totally off subject, but I saw your thing about run/walk. How did it go? I was running a couple of years ago. I used a plan called Couch to 5k(google it). It was really easy to do. I quit, but it had nothing to do with the plan, it was my own laziness. I want to pick it back up again and I will use that system again. It's very gradual but shows new results every week.

You can shop for my baby girl anytime. ;o)

I just won a gift card to Target on another blog...hmmm...what a great idea!

Great job with the amusement park solo. That speaks volumes about how well behaved your boys must be for you to even attempt it!

I'm so glad to have little girls to shop for. Boy stuff is ok but its not fun like girl stuff is. And the Olympics are taking over our lives here too.

I have such a hard time not buying tons of clothes for my baby girl since I don't know what size she will be when I get her...sometimes though - you just have to go out on a limb...this may be one of those times!
