Tiny Talk Tuesday - Holiday Version

Hello there! It's been awhile. I've been a little busy...present shopping, gift wrapping, cookie baking, fudge making, goodie eating, party attending, credit card swiping, Christmas movie watching, carol singing and more.

I decided to resurface with this fun post! I have been meaning to participate in this activity for awhile now and have just not been able to get my stuff together. But guess what? This week, I did it!

Mary at Not Before 7 hosts Tiny Talk each Tuesday and just recently listed some fun questions to ask your children for a holiday version of Tiny Talk. So, here are my favorite answers to said questions...plus some video of my caroling cuties!

(FYI - the parts in parentheses are my commentary)

My favorite answers from Will (Age 3 yrs)

Why do we celebrate Christmas? Because it snows outside.

What is your favorite food/treat to eat at Christmas time? Sprinkles

What is the best part about Christmas?
Uh…Uh…Uh…Uh…Uh…Uh…Christmas trees and presents?

What should daddy buy mommy for Christmas? Nothing, just a Little People Movie. (Yep! All I want for Christmas is a Little People Movie.)

My favorite Answers from Richie (Age 6yrs)

What would you like for Christmas?
10, 000 different Star Wars people (whoa)

Why do we give presents? Because when we are good and kind...not angry...not hating we give God love and that’s a gift. (Isn't that a beautiful answer? Made this Mama proud)

Why do we have a tree to decorate?
Because it reminds us of the cradle that Jesus was born in…because the branches on the tree kind of look like the straw that was in the cradle. (Isn't he going to be good at answering essay questions he doesn't really know the answer to? Gets this from his Father ;-)

Why was there no room at the inn?
Because so many people were traveling to their own homes where they were babies because the King sent them to their own places where they were born. And then Jophes (that is not a typo...he really calls him that ;-) and Mary had to go to the manger because there was no room in the inn.

What gifts did the wise men bring?
Gold, Silver, Mark, and May (Wha??)

What food should we leave for Santa?
Cookies, carrots, macaroni and cheese, and a bell with a note that says “This bell is for you Santa. It is from Will, Daddy, Mommy, and Richie."

8. How did Santa get so fat?
I know! By eating so much cookies. He needs to be more healthy.

And now some some caroling cuties...

William singing "Jingle Bells" (don't you just love the little hop at the end?)

Another of Will (even though it isn't a Christmas song)

Finally, Richie singing We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

What a good giggle!!! I would definitely go to more ball games if they served Apple Jacks.
On a side note, look at your designer Christmas tree! Martha Stewart would be jealous!!

oh my I love your blog! Also, thank you so much for your message. You are so sweet seriously! I hate expecting anything to be a certain way on that one day out of the year. =)
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to send me a message.
Oh and I knew how to pronounce your name right off the bat! Go me!

That was GREAT! And, the videos are just adorable.

One more thing...every time I visit your blog, I say your name correctly one time to try to reprogram my brain!

I love this post....so cute!! And your boys are just precious. As I was watching them sing, I was thinking "I need to record my girls more...these memories are so priceless."

Looks like you're teaching your boys well...Richie had some very knowledgable answers. He's a smart one!

I loved Will singing Jingle Bells. The hop was the clincher.

LOVED THIS!! And I so agree with #8. Maybe this year we'll leave carrots for Santa instead of cookies. And your kids are TOO cute! What a fun post!

So cute----kids say the cutest things. Your right, your Will and my Myles are a lot alike.

Makes me sad that I didn;t start blogging sooner to preserve those precious memories. So glad you captured them in writing and in video.

That was precious!! They both have the natural ability to sing on key... They must get that from their parents!! :) I loved hearing your voice at the end of Will's first song. I miss you my sweet friend. Merry Christmas!!

Awww, that made me smile. And I don't feel like smiling right now.

You're kids are going to be wonderful singers.

I thought that I was the only one that wanted a Little Peoples movie! :)

I keep hearing Aaron Neville's voice singing in my head...Little People with great big plans....

I have not seen Richie in a while and OH MY he is getting bigger and still so cute. Actually I saw him yesterday at school but he was sitting down so that does not count.

Hey Alana!
I am relatively new to this blog thing and stumbled on your blog. I just had to comment since I used to live in the Ozarks...and one of MY favorite things is Chai Tea Lattes, too! (I guess that's not all that unique though, is it? :) Have you ever tried Vanilla Chai Tea Latte's from Starbucks? Even the skim version is awesome!

Just wanted to say hi and keep up the blogging! It sounds like you have some good things to share!

Lisa :)

like fran i keep trying to re-program the brain for uh-lay-nah except that middle syllable has TWO TEXAS SYLLABLES! hey, i just told my Barrett about 20-minute version Scrabble except I told him it was 20-SECOND SCRABBLE AND HIS REPLY TO ME WAS: "Mom, you would have one word for that game and it would be. W A I T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" i came by to look up name of game to go buy it---20-minute sounds much better whew! does that mean I get 20 minutes every turn? LOL I am soooo competitive. I think I can beat you. :)
